Terms & Conditions


  1. All fencing kit provided will be as specified by current BFA Safety Guidelines. These can be found at www.britishfencing.com.  
  2. Students are asked to wear loose clothing (such as t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms) and non – marking shoes. No skirts, sandals or shorts. Elite Sabre Coaching Ltd (ESC) reserve the right to exclude students dressed inappropriately from activities if safety is judged to be impeded. This also applies to inappropriate behaviour.
  3. By ticking the T&Cs box on the online form, we ask you to agree to having read and acknowledged the above and also the following statement: “I accept as parent/guardian of the student that the organisers and school will not be held responsible for any unforeseeable loss, damage or accident to students or their property during these sessions.”


4.1 Work groups will be based on ability where possible. Activities vary depending on numbers of students/availability of staff. Beginners will only be accepted if confirmed in writing by the coach.

4.2 Places for courses are reserved once the online form has been received. We will confirm places via email and expect payment of the deposit (where applicable) within two weeks, which will then secure the booking.  

4.3 The full amount must be paid at least 14 days before the first day, or before the nominated date, of the course to receive the ‘Advance Ticket Rate’, this applies even if a deposit has been paid.

4.4 The ‘Earlybird T-shirt’ offer for fun days only applies to those who book and pay the deposit for all days. Payment of the deposit must be made by the deadline in order for t-shirts to be available and only applies to ‘Fun Day’ bookings.

We regret that deposits (half of the balance) are non-refundable, unless the course is cancelled by ESC.


5.1 Payments may be made in advance or on the day. Once booked, we ask that cancellations be made 48 hours in advance, or the balance for the lesson be paid.

5.2 The Coach has final say on how many may partake in a sparring session at one time and on who is ready to take part. A starting point would be a minimum of 10 weeks fencing experience and an age of over 13.

5.3 Fencers sparring are expected to own breeches and we recommend that they be members of British Fencing.

5.4 Please note, BFA Guidelines advise that full protective equipment, of at least the minimum for non-electric fencing, be worn for 1-on-1 lessons. Pleas see note 4.3.2 in this document.

5.4 Lesson swaps must be approved by the coach.
